Did you know that all North Star sliders have U- Shaped channels that physically interlock with one another, allowing them to seal tightly & give you maximum security.
We have 5 different types of sliding windows; 3 horizontal & 2 vertical. Sometimes, depending on your opening dimensions, you are able to choose a horizontal or vertical slider. In other cases, your opening will limit your style choices. Each window is custom ordered to fit your exact space. Learn more about the product options available.
Single Sliders
These move horizontally from the left or right. These have one fixed panel & one sliding panel. The operating unit will also lift out for cleaning.
Double Sliders
The double slider has two operating units, both moving left to right. Typically these windows tilt in but they can also lift out for cleaning & escape purposes.
Endvent Slider
These are very similar to double sliders, but they are 3 panels - 2 sliding & one fixed. The operating units will tilt in for cleaning. Typically used for long skinny spaces.
Single Hung
These move vertically. Much like a single slider, these have one fixed panel & one sliding panel. The operating unit will tilt in for cleaning, however the fixed unit must be cleaned from the outside.
Double Hung
Also moving vertically, the double hung has two operating units. These will both tilt in for cleaning, which is convenient for the second floor rooms. There is no lift out option for the double hung.
Safety Features
Night latches are a safety feature that is available for the double hung & slider. These only allow the window to slide open 2 inches. These are great if you have children, giving you peace of mind, especially at night.
